Colours 2020 Announcement

The 72nd Colours boat races between Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin will take place on Saturday March 14th 2020. The races will be raced upstream on the lower Liffey, from O’Connell Bridge to Victoria Quay (alongside the Guinness Brewery).

As is tradition, a coin toss will determine which club Captain may declare the station (side of the river) on which each university will compete. The 2020 coin toss will be officiated by three-times Henley winner and Irish rowing legend Seán Drea. Details of the coin toss will be published in due course.

Spectators may view the race from the quays and bridges along the course, and a dedicated viewing area will be set up at the finish line, on Victoria Quay. A live video stream of the races will also be available to view online.

For safety reasons, spectators are forbidden from following the races on bicycles, and anyone attempting to do so will be reported.
