Corcoran Cup

River Liffey

The Corcoran Cup was introduced in 1980 as a Women’s Senior IV race between the Ladies’ Boat Clubs of Trinity and UCD.

History

The race was held in Islandbridge up until 1990 when it moved downstream below the weir to join the Gannon Cup in the city centre. The race was then changed to Women’s VIII from 1993 due to the huge increase in participation by women in rowing throughout Ireland during that period.
